I went to a car show last weekend at a local country racetrack. The professional photographer took a picture of Jolene!

That Corvair wagon looks rad as hell. I don’t think I knew they existed either. Jolene looking great as always.

Great to see that no weird children dolls were present too!

Of all the cars there, I like Jolene the best. She’s the most unique. You see the others all the time at shows.

Nice! I’m looking forward to getting the Mustang out and about next year once it’s (mostly) sorted out. That’s a fun looking group of cars.

Is that Malibu wagon towing a race car?

Jolene looks great as always.

Other than Jolene, that Malibu wagon is the only vehicle I’d be remotely interested in, and that’s just from nostalgia’s sake.

of course your car will get attention, how many of them are left in that condition on the road?

I appreciate a good classic, but some of them are kind of boring now because I see them at literally every show I attend. Mustangs are the worst offenders followed by new Challengers.

Jolene is quite unique (in 2020, anyway - not in 1990) and that’s why I show her off. I get a few negative reactions, but by and large, people are really excited to see the car.

Thanks! I agree. The Mustangs, Challengers, old hot rods, etc. are nice and all but they and their baby boomer owners are at EVERY show I attend. It gets a bit old and boring seeing the same thing over and over again.

It’s funny to me how Jolene is so unique and rare now but was the most common of econoboxes 30-years-ago.

P.S. I was born in November 1989 and Jolene rolled off the Lordstown, Ohio assembly line in June 1990. :-)

I am friends with the Corvair owner. She’s super cool. Car came from the  Washington, D.C. area and was originally owned by a convent. Literally a group of nuns would drive it to the grocery and such.

Convertibles? Maybe 5. Haha.  Coupes? Less than that. Sedans and wagons? I don’t even know.

Very well preserved. Shows what pride of ownership and proper care can do for any car.  I’m pretty certain it hasn’t been a daily driver for a very long time, if it ever was.

The van gets the same reactions. In generally people are wowed at the condition of a 90s minivan and love the mods, but the general “muscle car” crowd tend to sometimes be negative towards a 90s mainstream vehicle at a show.

I always love it when they are talking shit and some excited person comes up ecstatic about it being there. A lot of times it makes them think long enough that they actually stop and appreciate the work and care.

I’m bored of “normal” car show vehicles, but I love seeing people’s in progress labors and chatting with them about the work they put in.
